Charles G. Berg
Executive Chairman

Charles G. Berg has served as our Executive Chairman and director since January 2008. Mr. Berg was Senior Advisor to Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a private equity firm, from January 2007 to April 2009.  From April 2005 to September 2006, Mr. Berg served as Executive of UnitedHealth Group, Inc., a diversified health company, and as Chief Executive Officer of UnitedHealth’s Northeast Region from July 2004 to April 2005.  From April 1998 to July 2004, Mr. Berg held various executive positions with Oxford Health Plans Inc., which included Chief Executive Officer from November 2002 to July 2004, President and Chief Operating Officer from March 2001 to November 2002, and Executive Vice President, Medical Delivery, from April 1998 to March 2001. Mr. Berg currently serves as a director of DaVita, Inc., a provider of dialysis services, where he also serves on the nominating and governance, audit and compliance committees.

Alec Cunningham
Chief Executive Officer

Alec Cunningham assumed the role of chief executive officer in December 2009, and brings nearly two decades of managed care experience to his new position. Mr. Cunningham has also served as a member of WellCare’s Board of Directors since June 2010.

Mr. Cunningham joined WellCare’s executive team in 2005 as vice president of business development. In that role, he led teams to secure and implement significant new Medicaid contracts in Georgia, Ohio and Hawaii. More recently, Mr. Cunningham was president of WellCare’s largest operating division, serving Medicare and Medicaid members in Florida and Hawaii. Throughout his time at WellCare, Mr. Cunningham has also played a leadership role in the Company’s government affairs activities.

Prior to joining WellCare, Mr. Cunningham served as vice president of Business Development and Compliance at WellPoint Health Networks, Inc., where he was responsible for developing and managing health care products for state-sponsored programs. Prior to that, Mr. Cunningham worked for the state of Oklahoma, first on the Governor’s staff and then at the Oklahoma Health Care Authority, where he participated in the development and implementation of the state’s Medicaid managed care program.

He received his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Rex M. Adams
Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Rex Adams joined WellCare as the chief operating officer in August 2008. He assumed a newly created position and reports directly to the chief executive officer. Mr. Adams is currently responsible for the Company's operating activities, including claims payment, customer service and information systems.

Before joining WellCare, Mr. Adams served as the president and chief executive officer of AT&T East, a division of AT&T Inc. As one of five regional presidents, he was responsible for consumer and business sales and service as well as network operations for the Southern New England Telephone territory.

Mr. Adams joined AT&T following its merger with BellSouth Corporation. During his 12 years of service at BellSouth, he progressed through a number of leadership positions, including president of BellSouth Long Distance during its entry and rapid growth into the competitive long distance industry, and president of Wholesale Services during its implementation of government mandated and monitored operations for competitive local exchange and long distance carriers. He also served in leadership roles as part of Information Technology, Product Development and Management and Corporate Planning and Development.

Prior to joining BellSouth in 1994, Mr. Adams was a consultant at Monitor Company, a strategy-consulting firm that was founded by Harvard Business School professor Michael Porter. While at Monitor Company, Mr. Adams was involved with clients in a number of industries, focusing on cost optimization, process improvements and competitive positioning. He also spent five years in the Unites States Army as an infantry officer, where he was airborne, ranger and air assault.

Mr. Adams is a graduate of the Harvard Business School and the United States Military Academy at West Point. He previously sat on the Board of Trustees for the Yale-New Haven Hospital, one of the nation's premier teaching and research hospitals.

Christina C. Cooper
President, Florida and Hawaii Division 

Chrissie Cooper has served as the President of the Florida and Hawaii Division since December 2009. She joined WellCare in 2006 as Vice President, Finance Operations and was promoted to Region Vice President, Finance in August 2008. In August 2009, Ms. Cooper was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of the Florida and Hawaii Division.

Prior to joining WellCare, Ms. Cooper held several leadership positions at PacifiCare Health Systems from 1999 to 2006, including Regional Vice President, Finance. From 1997 to 1999, she served in a finance capacity at United HealthCare of Colorado.

Ms. Cooper received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Public Administration, Financial Management degrees from the University of Arizona.

Walter W. Cooper
Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer and President, Specialty Business Unit

As senior vice president, chief marketing officer and president of our Specialty Business Unit, Mr. Cooper brings more than 20 years of national and international management experience in multiple industries and disciplines including sales, marketing, manufacturing, operations, technology, human resources, health services and business development.

Mr. Cooper joined WellCare's executive team in 2006 as senior vice president of Strategic Initiatives. His role has evolved over the years to include serving as our corporate leader of Health Services, Human Resources, Corporate Communications and Regulatory Affairs. In January 2010, his role expanded and his title changed to senior vice president, chief marketing officer and president, Specialty Business Unit. In this role, he continues to lead Marketing and Sales, Product and National PDP. He now also leads our Business Strategy Group, Business Process Improvement, Marketing Communications and Specialty Pharmacy teams.

Prior to joining WellCare, Mr. Cooper served in senior-level positions with UnitedHealth Group, including positions as senior vice president of United Retiree Solutions and vice president of Marketing and Product for Specialized Care Services. Earlier in his career, Mr. Cooper served in a variety of key, strategic positions at Jostens, including general manager of an international start-up operation in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. While at Jostens, he was responsible for North American Marketing, including Canada, and served as a thought leader of a newly created go-to-market strategy. Prior to Jostens, Mr. Cooper worked for eight years with Bausch & Lomb as general manager of their international operations and many other key strategic roles.

He received both his Mechanical Engineering Bachelor of Science and his Master of Business Administration from Gannon University.

Michael Cotton
President, National Health Plans
 

Michael Cotton is the president, national health plans and reports to the chief executive officer. In this role, he leads all of the Company’s health plan market operations and is responsible for business development and expansion of the Company’s health plan businesses.

Mr. Cotton joined WellCare in 2005, and most recently served as the Company’s president of its South Division. He was also responsible for leading the Company's market expansion efforts in Ohio. Prior to joining WellCare, Mr. Cotton was worldwide partner and market leader for Mercer Human Resources Consulting from October 2001 to December 2005. Before joining Mercer, he was president and chief executive officer of Mid-Valley CareNet, a physician hospital organization from November 1998 to October 2001. Earlier in his career, Mr. Cotton was president and chief executive officer of AMERIGROUP Corporation of Illinois and senior vice president and chief operating officer of University Hospitals Health System of Cleveland.

Mr. Cotton received his undergraduate degree from Franklin University and his Master of Business Administration from Cleveland State University.

Scott D. Law
Senior Vice President, Health Care Delivery

Scott Law joined WellCare as the senior vice president of Health Care Delivery in October 2009. Mr. Law reports directly to the chief executive officer and is responsible for pharmacy, quality management, care management and network management functions.

Mr. Law brings 20 years experience in health care. Prior to joining WellCare, Mr. Law served as the national healthcare delivery officer for Health Net, Inc., where he was responsible for enterprise-wide medical management, medical/clinical programs and integration, clinical operations, quality and medical policy. His experience includes roles with CIGNA Corporation, Humana and several Florida hospitals.

Mr. Law is a graduate of the Executive Development Program, Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Health Services Management from Florida Tech and a Bachelor of Science, Business Management from the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Dan Parietti
President, North Division

Dan Parietti is the president of WellCare's North Division with responsibility over operational groups throughout New York, Ohio, New Jersey, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana and Missouri. He first joined WellCare as the vice president of WellCare's New York plans and served as chief operating officer of those plans in 2004. He was then promoted to president of WellCare's New York plans in 2005.

Mr. Parietti holds more than 12 years of experience in the managed care industry. Prior to joining WellCare, he served as the chief operating officer for La Cruz Azul de Puerto Rico, a 500,000-member health plan with commercial and Medicaid membership throughout the island. Previously, as a vice president at Health Net, Inc., Mr. Parietti had matrix responsibility for building and maintaining the national health care delivery system for a managed care company with over 5 million members. Mr. Parietti also worked for Humana in several market locations and at its headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky. In his final assignment with Humana, he served as associate executive director for Humana of Puerto Rico. This role allowed him to leverage Humana’s stateside expertise and operations to improve and expand Humana of Puerto Rico.

Mr. Parietti’s education includes a bachelor's degree in computer science from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Business Administration from George Mason University.

Timothy S. Susanin
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Timothy S. Susanin has served as WellCare’s senior vice president, general counsel and secretary since June 2009. He first joined WellCare in November 2008 as vice president and chief counsel—dispute management.

Prior to joining WellCare, Mr. Susanin was with the Gibbons law firm from 2001 to October 2008, first as counsel and then as partner. Mr. Susanin was an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania from 1992 to 1998 and an Associate Independent Counsel on the Whitewater investigation from 1998 to 2000. He also served in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps from 1988 to 1992.

Mr. Susanin received his undergraduate degree in history, with departmental honors, from Franklin & Marshall College and his Juris Doctorate from the Villanova University School of Law.

Blair W. Todt
Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer

Blair Todt joined WellCare as senior vice president and chief compliance officer in April 2010. He leads WellCare’s corporate ethics and compliance program with a focus on compliance investigations, policy and procedures auditing, compliance training and compliance committee administration. He reports to the chief executive officer and the Regulatory Compliance Committee of the WellCare Board of Directors.

Mr. Todt previously was senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for health care provider MedCath Corporation. Prior to joining MedCath in 2006, Mr. Todt served as deputy general counsel, compliance and litigation at BearingPoint, Inc. (formerly KPMG Consulting Inc.), where he was a member of the Compliance Steering Committee and participated in the formation of the Office of Chief Compliance Officer, including the creation and implementation of ethics, privacy, regulatory and human resource training programs. Earlier in his career, Mr. Todt was a partner at Carter, Conboy, Case, Blackmore, Maloney, and Laird, P.C., where he advised corporations on appropriate compliance and ethics programs. He also served as a law clerk to United States District Judge Con G. Cholakis in the Northern District of New York.

Mr. Todt received his undergraduate degree in political communications from The George Washington University and his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School.

Thomas L. Tran
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Thomas Tran joined WellCare as the senior vice president and chief financial officer in July 2008. In this role, Mr. Tran is responsible for the Company’s financial activities, including financial and performance management, capital strategy and planning, investor relations and investment management.

Prior to joining WellCare, Mr. Tran held senior financial positions in Fortune 500, middle market and entrepreneurial environments. Most recently, he served as president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer for health care management services provider CareGuide, Inc. Previously, Mr. Tran served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Uniprise, one of the principal operating businesses of UnitedHealth Group that manages health care benefits programs for employers, as well as senior vice president and chief financial officer at ConnectiCare Inc., a health maintenance organization based in Connecticut. Additionally, Mr. Tran held senior-level positions as the chief financial officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts and vice president of finance and controller of CIGNA HealthCare.

Mr. Tran earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Seton Hall University, and he holds a Master of Business Administration in finance from New York University.

Ann O. Wehr
Chief Medical Officer

Ann O. Wehr, M.D., joined WellCare as chief medical officer in July 2010. Dr. Wehr reports to the chief executive officer and leads the Company’s medical affairs initiatives and health policy strategy.

Dr. Wehr holds more than 25 years of experience in health care administration and most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Molina Healthcare of New Mexico. Before that, she was the chief medical officer of Molina Healthcare of New Mexico and the vice president and chief medical officer for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of New Mexico. Earlier in her career, Dr. Wehr held leadership positions for Presbyterian Health Care Services, EQUICOR Health Plan, Prudential Plus and Miller Medical Group.

Dr. Wehr earned her Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in chemistry from the University of Notre Dame and her Medical Degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University. She is Board certified in internal medicine and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Wehr has an active medical license in New Mexico, Texas and Florida and is a member of numerous professional associations.
